Q: Why should I join AKPsi?
A: Alpha Kappa Psi is recognized as the oldest and largest professional business fraternity in the nation. Equipping tomorrow’s leaders with the skills and resources to succeed in any career field, Alpha Kappa Psi brings together a large variety of people who strive on professionalism. This organization brings hands-on experience in leadership, professionalism, and networking to your college experience and prepare you for your future career.
Q: Why did you join AKPsi?
A: Every brother decides to join Alpha Kappa Psi for their own reasons. Many will say they love our professional network and unending support from brothers, but there is not just “one” reason to join. You are encouraged to come to as many of our recruitment events as possible to learn more from the brothers and ask them.
Q: Do I have to be a business major to join AKPsi?
A: No, Alpha Kappa Psi is open to all majors. Many of our brothers are in the business school, but learning about professionalism and networking is critical to all majors and career fields. Our members are pursuing a variety of career options, but our drive to be successful and professional creates unity in our organization.
Q: How much of a time commitment is AKPsi?
A: There are mandatory requirements during the new member process, including attendance at weekly meetings and events. At times, it can be difficult, but you will get as much out of it as you are willing to put into it. What you learn during this process will help you grow your resources, professional network, and leadership skills.
Q: What is the difference between Alpha Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi?
A: Both organizations are business professional fraternities and each provides a unique experience for their members. A key difference is that Alpha Kappa Psi is open to ALL majors. We believe that professionalism and a keen business sense is important no matter what subject you are studying or what career you intend to pursue.
Q: What do my grades have to be to join AKPsi? Will it stall my academic success?
A: In Alpha Kappa Psi, we take pride in our academics. It is a priority that our members maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Our Pledge Education Program is designed so that our potential members successfully excel in their academics during their transition into the brotherhood.
Q: Can I Attempt The Recruitment Process more than once?
A: Absolutely! We actually encourage it. We offer rush in both the fall and spring semesters. Many brothers have rushed more than once, and it does not penalize you in joining our organization in any way.
